Kathryn Stites, a high school student at Notre Dame High School, won first place in the 2008 Photograpy Contest sponsored by The Department of Education, Arts & Culture and the Chattanooga Housing Authority. There were twenty-eight entries received representing public, private and home schooled students. The judges were professional photographers and graphic designers from the Chattanooga Times Free Press and a representative from Chattanooga Housing Authority.
